Engineer Associate – Town of Apple Valley (contractor) – Dec. 2006 to Present
Instrumental in managing, planning and developing yearlymillion dollar capital improvement projects for the Town of Apple Valley Engineering Division. Project coordinator for the $100 million Yucca Loma Bridge project that involves three municipal agencies, NEPA/CEQA environmental clearance and is set to go to construction in fall of 2010. Responsible for addressing citizen complaints and inquiries pertaining to the Town’s road infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
- Manages the Town’s annual road construction projects from RFP advertising, to contract issuance and throughout each construction phase.
- Improved various Town of Apple Valley permitting processes with FileMaker Pro databases that reduced processing and billing times.
- Developed a proprietary Pavement Management System in FileMaker Pro to help the Town of Apple Valley and other municipalities track the histories of their road paving, and further guide them in their future paving decisions.
- Supervise contractors and other construction inspector colleagues during construction phases of road related capital improvement projects.
- Prepare reports and presentations concerning Engineering Division related items, for bi-monthly Town of Apple Valley council meetings.

Building Inspector – Town of Apple Valley (contractor) – Jan. 2003 to Dec. 2006
Obtained Building Inspector (BI) certification (within 1 year of hire) and obtained Certified Building Official (CBO) license in 2009. Performed daily building inspections on new and remodeled residential construction in the Town of Apple Valley. Conducted residential plan checking for new and remodeled residential homes and structures.
- Modernized a company-wide FileMaker Building & Safety permit database to track municipal building permits, permitting costs and building inspections.
- Assisted citizens with questions concerning building projects and how they can meet the current standards of the California Building Code.
- Performed various computer related maintenance duties, including: maintenance of permitting/tracking databases, troubleshooting computer issues with Macs and PCs, and perform training of new databases and/or other software.
